The Project
Having completed multiple projects at the Baie-D’Urfé facility since 2013 in collaboration with Boulangerie Lanthier’s leadership team, the company once again entrusted Syscomax—this time for work at its Alexandria, Ontario facility.
Carried out in two phases to minimize disruption to ongoing operations, the expansion project totals 17,881 sq ft (1,661 sq m) and targets three distinct areas. It includes a new 4,000 sq ft (372 sq m) production zone dedicated to product development, a 2,000 sq ft (186 sq m) administrative area spread over two levels, featuring a rooftop terrace for employees, as well as approximately 12,000 sq ft (1,115 sq m) devoted to storage and shipping functions.
The architectural approach focused on durable, high-quality materials—including steel, wood, glass, and masonry—allowing the building to stand the test of time while respecting the character of the original structure dating back to 1932.
Delivering this project outside of Syscomax’s primary market also highlights the organization and perseverance of its teams, who successfully mobilized resources and developed new local partnerships to ensure the project’s success.
