The Project

Located at Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL), Air Inuit’s facilities serve as the organization’s primary operations hub, supporting essential passenger, cargo, and emergency transportation services across Northern Quebec.

Delivered by Syscomax in 2010, the initial project includes administrative offices, a passenger departure lounge, and two maintenance hangars designed to accommodate B-737 and DASH-8-400 aircraft.

As part of this ongoing mandate, Syscomax carried out multiple interventions to support the evolution of the client’s operational needs. In 2014, a first expansion involved the extension of the apron and parking areas, including the addition of an extra bay dedicated to charter flights.

In 2016, a subsequent intervention focused on modifying the existing building through the reconfiguration of interior spaces to accommodate a tenant’s operational requirements.

Continuing this collaboration, Syscomax was mandated once again in 2025 to expand the facilities dedicated to Ground Service Equipment (GSE) maintenance, located along the secured airport perimeter. This intervention added 3,785 sq ft (352 sq m) to the existing 153,000 sq ft (14,214 sq m) technical centre, significantly increasing operational capacity for the maintenance of critical ground support equipment.

Completed in just four months, the work was carried out in a highly secure environment, requiring close coordination with multiple airport authorities. The design also incorporates solutions aimed at optimizing energy performance and ensuring the long-term adaptability of the facilities, including provisions for future expansion.
